FROM SILVER TO SEMICONDUCTORS: RESHORING AMERICA’S CRITICAL MINERALS
Antimony
National defense & semiconductors
Gallium & Germanium
Essential for AI, 5G, aerospace; Sunshine uniquely positioned to produce domestically.
Copper
Core to electrification and grid security; vital for EVs and renewables
ANTIMONY
Sunshine is the only U.S. refinery permitted for large-scale antimony production. This capability has taken on new urgency since China, which produces ~60% of global supply, banned exports of antimony to the United States in late 2024. Sunshine, along with other antimony feeds such as Perpetua’s Stibnite Mine, could supply 40% of U.S. antimony demand in 2028, with the possibility of expanding the refinery to meet 80% of U.S. demand by 2031, reinforcing domestic supply chains critical for defense, semiconductors, and advanced batteries.
GALLIUM & GERMANIUM
Sunshine also holds rare U.S. permits to refine gallium and germanium, two minerals essential for AI, 5G, aerospace, and solar technologies. Here too, China dominates production and has banned exports to the U.S., making Sunshine one of the only domestic options to secure these strategic inputs.
COPPER
In addition, Sunshine’s hydrometallurgical facility can produce COMEX-grade cathode copper, linking the complex to U.S. electrification and energy transition supply chains.
